The official rescue site of the Shar Pei Club of Great Britain

These dogs need permanent loving forever homes.  Please scroll down and read their profiles.  If you can help, if you would like to adopt one of these dogs, please contact us.   This month we have seen six dogs off to wonderful new homes and new starts, please help us to keep helping these dogs find new forever homes.

Just in

  •  Benson - 3 year old neutered male, good with children, available through no fault of his own
  •  Frank - 4 year old red fawn male, good with children, would make ideal family pet- Watford

 Alfie (Herts)

Alfie is a handsome 15 month old who is available through no fault of his own.  He lives with a cat and teenage children.  He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and would suit a home where he is the only dog.  He walks well on a lead and travels well.  His owners say he's not great with other dogs when he's on his lead so needs a little work in this area.

A home together? (NE)

That's what these two are looking for if possible.  A four year old female bearcoat and five year old male horsecoat, who have been brought up together and with children.  They've never seen a cat so a home without cats is a must for these two.

More details to follow soon.

Fawn (Essex)

Fawn is 5 year old horsecoat male with full medical history and is fully up to date with his vaccinations.  He is also chipped and generally in good health.  He has been castrated.  He is a independent dog, good with children.  Like his walks and loves attention. Wary of other dogs.  He would make a great companion to anyone who has time and he is very loyal.

Fawn has now been taken to Hillside Kennels, No 3 Block, Galley Hill, EN9 2BL. Telephone number 01992 892 881.  Please contact the kennels for more information.

Mingus (London)

Mingus needs a new home through no fault of his own.  This fun-loving four year old horsecoat is looking for a knowledgeable home either without children or with older children.  He can be bouncy which is why younger children are not recommended.  He has no health issues.  He is vaccinated and microchipped, walks on a harness and does pull a little on the way to the park  He is exercised off lead and is good with other dogs and people and has good recall.  He does chase squirrels but has yet to catch one so a home without cats is probably best.  He loves his routine and would best suit a home where he is the only dog.  He has been known to collect the post and his owner describes him as 'not perfect' but great fun!

Urgent homes needed (Glasgow)

Due to the sad death of their owner, these two need a new home as soon as possible preferably together but will split.  These two, a sable boy 2yrs old and a black girl 4 yrs old are in the short-term care of the SSPCA in Glasgow.  Both are 'not unnaturally' nervous and a little fearful of their surroundings.  They need an experienced home, as quickly as possible, where they can be given time to settle and adjust. If you can Help provide or find a suitable home for either or both, please Contact Anna: Tel: 0141 882 1688 at the SSPCA Glasgow Dog and Cat Home, 125 Kinnell Avenue, Cardonald, Glasgow G52 3RY.

Vinny (Essex)

Vinny is a 14 month old black horsecoat who needs a knowledgeable home with older children and no cats.  He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.  He pulls terribly on a lead and needs someone who has the time and dedication to spend with him on training.  He gets on with other female dogs but not males.  He is boisterous so a home with teenage or no children would be best.  He has no health issues and no behaviour issues apart from his pulling on a lead and chasing sheep!

Jeff (Wisbech)

Jeff is one very confused and unhappy Shar Pei who was very good with children and other dogs.  However, due to some major upheavals in in short life he is now displaying uncharacteristic behaviour and has developed separation anxiety.  He needs a loving but knowledgeable home without cats or children where he can regain his lost confidence .  Jeff is 3 years old.

Tank and Lulu (Kent)

Tank is a three year old fawn boy who has not been neutered.  Lulu is a five year old red fawn who has been spayed.  They have both grown up with children and with wonderful temperaments, will make great family pets.  Tank gets on well with other dogs, Lulu is not so good and prefers just Tank for company.  Both can sit and are well behaved over toys.  They can pull a bit on a lead and may need a little more work in this area.  Both are housetrained and vaccinated.  They are each looking for a family home and can be split.

Paddy & Buster (Kent) - photos to follow

Paddy is a 4 year old apricot who is up to date with his worming and vaccinations.  Available through no fault of his own he is very laid back and gets on well with other dogs and children.   He would probably be best either as an only dog or with a female.

Buster is a five year old fawn brushcoat who currently lives with Paddy but is the more dominant of the two dogs.  Buster would probably suit a home without other dogs, cats or children.

Both these males are entire and have lived together all their lives, however we will be separating them to go to their new homes as we feel Paddy is slightly overshadowed by Buster and would benefit from more one to one attention.

Tia (and her Staffie friend Buster) - (East London)

Tia's owner has to have an operation which will leave him unable to look after his dogs.  Reluctantly he is putting them up for adoption.  Tia is a 6 year old bruscoat and her pal Buster a six year old Staffie.  Normally we would not help in the homing of other breeds but these two have grown up together and never been apart.  Both are lovely dogs with good temperaments.  Tia's owner is putting off his operation until he has these two sorted out.  As you can tell, it's not easy for him but he has the dogs' best interests at heart.  Could you take these two on?  If so contact us.
